What is a good replacement for oars?
I don't have enough money to buy oars so are their anything else i can use? I am going to be in a small inflatable boat fishing. All help will be appreciated.
Take a 5 gallon bucket and cut it in half (long way, start at the top of the bucket and cut all the way down the side, cut the bottom out of it then trim the two halves to an appropriate paddle shape and size then screw or even better drill holes and bolt them to a pole or wood 2x2, a tree limb , a small sapling tree,or any thing that will provide enough strength to hold up and be comfortable for you to use, you may wish to sand your pole or whatever you have chosen for the pole
to make it a little more comfortable and smooth out any splinters or burs, an old piece of leather works great on the pole as cushioning and grip, simply wrap it around the area where your hands will be using a good glue or tie wraps or if nothing else just tape it.
You can make two paddles out of one bucket. They work great as they are very light and flexible so they also hold up well. Hope this helps and good luck on your fishing trip.
