Need To Know Comparison of falling off an intertube going 35 mph to lets say...falling off a building?

Me and some friends were out on the River yesterday and we rode on a float. It was pulled by a Jet Ski. The float would flip over sometimes and the Jet Ski would maybe be doing 30 to 40 mph...and we hit the water and would flip. Pretty rough impact! Sometimes they Jet Ski would go in circle at about 10 mph but the outward force on the float made it hard to hang on without being thrown off the side, when we were finally thrown the impact was just as rough it seemed. Does anyone know any Website that compare maybe falling off a building to hitting the water and a certain mph, or perhaps a chart.
I wish there was something that said, if a 185 lb guy hits the water at 35 mph it is = to falling off a 10 storied building

I guess I didn't understand what you were looking for when I answered your last question.

The same idea applies for falling off of a building... I'll show you how to calculate the speed of the person after he falls off the building, and you can use that to compare how fast the jet ski is going. Thus, you can create your own table, because I doubt any currently exist.

If the person is not jumping out of the window, then

v² = 2gx

x = ½v² / g

x = height of building
v = speed at impact
g = acceleration due to gravity (32.2 ft/s²)

There you go... In your example

v = 35 mph
g = 32.2 ft/s²

You first need to convert miles per hour to feet per second...
Multiply by 1.467

v = 51.3 ft/s
g = 32.2 ft/s²

x = 0.5 * (51.3)² / 32.2 = 40.9 ft

Since a story is about 12.5 ft, this is about a 3 story building.

The reason you survive with minor injuries, is as I said in my previous answer, the time duration of the impact in water is MUCH greater than on land.
