What are the Texas no wake zone rules?
I just got a ticket for jumping a wake in a no wake zone by a Texas game warden. I was going about 5 miles per hour until I got past the no wake sign then I took off up to about 45 to warm up my jet ski. I turned around after a few seconds and headed back to the ramp slowing down to around 5 miles per hour before entering the no wake zone. I was feathering the throttle a little bit because my ski is a little cold blooded and it dies sometimes when you first start it. What's the deal? Are these guys just trying to get a quota? How much is the fine? Has anyone here ever fought it in court? Any information would be appreciated but if you don't have specific knowledge about Texas it probably won't be helpful. Thanks.
without video proof or the testimony of several witnesses to prove that you did not break the law, the judges will always go with the officer in court. Call the court clerk, you might be able to just go pay the fine and court cost without actually having to go to court.
