Jet Ski Gauge to Boat?
I have a 1997 Suzuki 40hp outboard engine on my boat, and I was looking for a tachometer. I just recently bought a gauge for a jet ski, but the wires are differently colored. The boat comes with a grey (Sender), black (ground), and a purple (positive from ignition). But the guage has a black, purple and yellow. Can someone help? I need to know if the two are compatible. If the yellow on the gauge will match the grey on the boat. Thanks for your info.
I know the RPM ratings on the engine, the gauge size is correct, and it has the same type of connections on either side. I just want to make sure that the wires on the gauge are what i think they are.
Might not work as the Electric pulse is different between the 2>?Yellow?? don't know gray would be the sender> Black Ground> Purple is Hot> If you connect it and the pulse is wrong you might trash the tack>
