Castaic is gorgeous!! and HUGE plenty of area for you to hot dog. Pyramid is nice as well. Lake Perris is NASTY!! and in my honest opinion ghetto... Now I am a jet-ski snob I used to ski out at Lake Mead, Mohave, Powell, Fiesta Island (San Diego) and Castaic.
Salton Sea is scary and I am not sure you would want to go there if you are specifying CLEAN... this can also be said for Lake Elsinore as well (sigh) When I think of clean I think of water that when I am enjoying my ski I am not concerned about the water splashing in my face (possibly mouth) and if need be I would be okay not wearing my water shoes into the sand... the before mentioned places I would NEVER walk barefoot in those locations (Lake Perris, Lake Elsinore and Salton Sea)
