Whats wrong with my sea doo jet ski?
I have a 98 sea-doo xp limited jet ski and i cant get it started. We were riding it the other day and we parked it for lunch and when we came back we couldnt get it started and the engine wont turn over whats wrong with it? we thought it might be the battery but we took a newer battery out of our other jet ski and it didnt help at all. What else should i check on it? whats wrong?
First I would just remove the spark plugs and see if it will turn over. This would tell if you have a weak starter or battery. Next I would look under the ski to make sure no debris was drawn into the pump through the pump inlet. The last thing I would try is to turn the drive shaft coming out of the engine by hand with the plugs still out. It should turn fairly easily with the plugs out.If it turns under any of these conditions I would then start looking at the electrical system to determine if there is any corroded wiring especially where the ground is attached to the engine from the battery.
