I have a 99 Seadoo GSX Limited Jet Ski that will only stay running if I hold the start button in...?
I have a 99 Seadoo GSX Limited Jet Ski that runs great but will only stay running if I hold in my start button...I need to know what could be causing this problem and what I need to fix it. I have heard a starter switch but no one is positive and I am leaving to take it on vacation next thursday so need to have it fixed by then. Has anyone evr had this problem and know how to fix it???
If you mean that holding the start button in keeps the starter turning and you think that's running it's not. If the ski is running normally then the starter switch you need to replace is the one you keep holding in. It's also probably the cheapest fix you could come up with. You might want to try first measuring which wires are shorted when you hold the switch in and then try using a jumper across them to see if it will fix the problem. In other if you hot wire your own ski you might be able to get through your vacation without changing the switch.
